For buyers
How do I contact a seller?
Find a listing you're interested in and click Unlock contact info. This spends one credit from your wallet and instantly reveals the seller's email and/or phone number. You can then message them directly inside Whipbroker or reach out however you prefer.
What are credits?
Credits are the currency used on Whipbroker to unlock seller contact details. One credit unlocks one listing. Credits never expire and can be used on any listing.
How do I buy credits?
Go to Credits in your account. Packs range from 1 credit ($1.99) up to 50 credits ($49.99). Payments are processed securely via Stripe.
What if the seller never responds?
If a seller does not respond within 5 days of you unlocking their listing, your credit is automatically refunded — no action needed on your part. You'll receive an in-app notification when the refund is issued.
Can I get a refund if I'm not happy with the listing?
You can request a refund from the Buying page within the refund window. Your first refund request is approved automatically and instantly. Any subsequent requests are reviewed by our team.
What happens after I confirm a purchase?
When a seller marks their vehicle sold and identifies you as the buyer, you'll get a notification asking you to confirm or deny. If you confirm, your unlock credit is refunded — a thank-you for completing the deal on platform.
Can I unlock the same listing twice?
No — once you've unlocked a listing, you have permanent access to that seller's contact info. Unlocking is idempotent; you won't be charged again.
What is the waitlist?
If a listing you want is paused or temporarily unavailable, you can join the waitlist. When the listing becomes active again you'll be notified, and you can choose to unlock immediately.
What does Verified Buyer mean?
Verified Buyer is a paid badge that proves you've completed phone and government-ID verification. It costs $19 as a one-time purchase. Verified buyers stand out in seller inboxes, get faster responses, and can unlock listings priced over $100K (which are restricted to verified buyers only).
How do I get verified?
Visit Get verified. The flow takes about 5 minutes: confirm your phone number via text code, complete a Stripe Identity check (government ID + selfie), and pay the $19 package fee. You can pay with a card or with credits from your wallet.
Can I use credits to pay for verification?
Yes. The conversion rate is 1 credit = $1.50 of fee value, so the $19 Verified Buyer package costs 13 credits. The premium listing fee (sellers) is the same rate. We give credits favorable value when used for fees as a thank-you for keeping your wallet funded.
Why can't I unlock this listing?
Listings priced over $100K (Premium listings) are restricted to Verified Buyers. If you see a 'Get verified to unlock' prompt instead of the usual unlock button, the listing requires verification. Complete the verification flow once and you can unlock any premium listing across the site.
For sellers
How much does it cost to list?
Free for standard listings (under $100K). Premium listings priced at $100K or above include a one-time $49 listing fee that bundles required seller verification and the verified-buyer floor that filters tire kickers from your inbox. The fee is refunded in full when your vehicle sells on Whipbroker, so it acts as a quality bond rather than a revenue grab.
How do I list my vehicle?
Click List vehicle in the navigation bar. You'll be guided through a short wizard: category, details, photos, and pricing. A listing can go live in under five minutes.
Who can message me?
Only buyers who have spent a credit to unlock your listing can initiate contact. This means everyone who reaches out has committed something before taking your time.
Will I be notified when a buyer unlocks my listing?
Yes — you'll get an in-app notification immediately. You can also enable email and/or SMS notifications per listing in your listing settings.
What happens if I don't respond to a buyer?
If you don't respond within 5 days of a buyer unlocking your listing, their credit is automatically refunded and your conversation thread is locked. The buyer can choose to re-unlock if they still want to contact you.
How do I mark my vehicle as sold?
From your seller dashboard, find the listing and select Mark as sold. You'll be asked to identify which buyer you sold to (if the deal happened on Whipbroker). The buyer will then confirm or deny the sale.
Do I get anything for completing a sale on Whipbroker?
Yes — when you identify a Whipbroker buyer for the first time on a listing, you receive 1 credit as a listing reward.
Can I pause or remove my listing?
Yes. From your dashboard you can pause a listing (hides it from search but keeps it intact) or remove it entirely at any time.
What is a Premium listing?
Listings priced at $100K or above are Premium listings. Premium includes a one-time $49 listing fee (refunded when your vehicle sells), required seller verification (phone + ID), and a verified-buyer-only floor — meaning only buyers who have completed verification can spend credits to unlock your contact info. The result: zero tire kickers, smaller but higher-quality inbox.
Do I need to be verified as a seller?
Verification is free for sellers. It's optional for standard listings but required for Premium listings ($100K+). The flow is the same as the buyer flow — visit Get verified and complete phone + ID verification (~5 minutes). Verified sellers display a badge on their listings, which buyers tend to trust more.
Can I pay the Premium listing fee with credits?
Yes — the conversion rate is 1 credit = $1.50 of fee value. The $49 Premium fee costs 33 credits. Any credits you've earned by completing sales on Whipbroker (listing rewards) can be applied directly to future Premium listing fees.

Is Whipbroker only for cars?
No — Whipbroker supports Cars & Trucks, Motorcycles, RVs & Campers, Boats & Watercraft, Off-Road & UTVs, and Aircraft.
How does Whipbroker make money?
Buyers purchase credits to unlock seller contact info. Sellers list for free. There are no hidden fees, commissions, or auto-lead upsells.
Is my contact information safe?
Your email and phone number are only revealed to buyers who spend a credit to unlock your specific listing. They are never displayed publicly or sold to third parties.
How do I report a scam or bad listing?
Use the Report button on any listing or profile. Our moderation team reviews all reports and can suspend or ban accounts that violate our policies.
